DR. BRIAN BLANK
Dr. Brian Blank is the Founder of Ember Modern Medicine, a direct primary care practice in Greenville, S C. Dr. Blank grew up in the small town of Waterford, PA, delivering newspapers as a teen before leaving for the Midwest to study journalism at the University of Missouri. He spent several years working in cable news in both Atlanta and New York City. While living in New York City, he met his wife, Laura. As he got to know her parents, he spent many late nights talking with her father, a longtime primary care physician at the Cleveland Clinic. That was when he realized he wanted to switch careers and become a family medicine doctor. After stops in Boston and Costa Rica, Dr. Blank moved to Chapel Hill, NC where he completed medical school at the University of North Carolina, followed by residency at Duke University.

DR. KRISHNA PATEL
Dr. Krishna Patel is a family medicine physician at Ember Modern Medicine, a direct primary care practice in Greenville, SC. Dr. Patel grew up in Johns Creek, Georgia and completed her undergraduate degree in Neuroscience at Georgia State University. She earned her medical degree at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine – Georgia and finished her training at PRISMA Health’s Greer Family Medicine Residency Program. Dr. Patel’s interests in family medicine center around lifestyle medicine, osteopathic manipulative medicine and women’s health.

Nikki Vaughan, RN, BSN
Nikki Vaughan, RN, BSN is a family medicine nurse at Ember Modern Medicine. She completed her nursing school program at Lewis-Clark State College in Idaho and is currently pursuing her Family Nurse Practitioner degree at Carson Newman University. She is a kind, compassionate, highly skilled nurse who loves building relationships with her primary care patients. In addition, she runs Ember’s new aesthetics service, offering Jeauveau to all of her clients. She is a certified injector with an eye for detail who stays up-to-date on the latest trends and resources to deliver the best results for her clients! When she’s not at Ember, she loves staying healthy and fit with her husband, Mike, at their local CrossFit gym. The Vaughans also love to spend time outdoors hiking, camping and traveling with their five children.
